Non-Profit Leadership Certificate Program Application

Colleges and universities are asked by many groups, including the federal government, accrediting associations, college guides, and newspapers, to describe the ethnic/racial backgrounds of their students and employees. In order to respond to these requests, we ask you to answer the following two questions

Please complete the section below if you are requesting financial assistance to participate in the program. Scholarships range from $500 to $3,000 depending upon available funds. Scholarship awards are offered as part of the selection process giving all accepted applicants one (1) week to accept enrollment into the program based upon the scholarship offered. Additionally, payment plans can be developed for participants, if requested.

What is one personal leadership goal you would like to tackle during this program (i.e. What will be different about you for having completed this program)? (1500 characters max). Many personal goals will focus on new behaviors or practices that will encourage success.

Examples include:

• Further developing a key leadership skill (i.e. confidence, change management, public speaking/communication skills, problem solving, consensus building, motivating staff, managerial proficiencies, using a coach, reflection/journaling, etc.)
• Crafting a professional develop plan

Describe 3 potential organizational challenge/capstone projects facing the organization over the next year that you could undertake as part of this program. (1500 characters)

Example projects include**:

• Launching a new program or service
• Re-evaluation of organizational mission and vision
• Conducting a formal evaluation of an existing program or service
• Formal market analysis/needs assessment of existing sector services/providers
• Nurturing a culture of Board Member Engagement and leadership
• Exploring social enterprises that correlate to your organizations mission
• Development of formal fundraising plan
• Rebranding of the organization (name, logo, website)
• Development of a strategic plan or launching a strategic planning process
• Improving internal organizational culture from reactive to proactive
• Improving organizational transparency
• Tackling the topic of Race, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
• Improving employee morale, retention and purpose
• Improving programmatic or organizational efficiencies
