GCS 2014
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center will be hosting their Annual Government Contracting Showcase on April 24, 2014 at the Woodlands Inn in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  This event will bring Federal and State Government Agencies, Legislative Officials, Prime Contractors, and Regional Small Businesses together for an educational and networking event.

Congressman Matthew Cartwright, PA 17th Congressional District, will be the Keynote Luncheon Speaker at the Government Contracting Showcase.  Jeffrey Box, President & CEO, NEPA Alliance, states, “Congressman Matthew Cartwright is a strong supporter of economic growth.  He’s a ranking member on the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs. He has advocated for increased government business for regional companies, and recently announced an estimated $9.5 million modification of a contract between the Department of the Army and General Dynamics Ordinance and Tactical Systems, Inc. in our area. NEPA Alliance appreciates and shares his belief in promoting economic development in communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania.”

The Executive Director of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition, Scott Denniston, will be the Opening Keynote Speaker.  Mr. Denniston is a nationally recognized advocate for veteran entrepreneurs. In 1998, he was appointed to the Congressional Commission on Service Members and Veterans Transition Assistance, where he developed recommendations for enhancing and expanding support for veteran business owners.

The focus of the NEPA PTAC Government Contracting Showcase 2014 is on training to:

  • Increase awareness of the government marketplace as a viable market for regional businesses to sell their products or services;
  • Provide attendees with networking opportunities; and
  • Bring prime contractors and government agencies together with the small business community.
