NPRTPO Committee
2008-2009 Meeting Schedule
In accordance with the provisions of the Sunshine Law and federal transportation legislation, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Rural Transportation Planning Organization (NPRTPO) Committee will hold business meetings on the following dates:
- September 15, 2008 at 9:30 AM
- October 21, 2008 at 9:30 AM
- December 2, 2008 at 9:30 AM
- February 17, 2009 at 9:30 AM
- April 21, 2009 at 9:30 AM
- June 16, 2009 at 9:30 AM
All meetings will be held at the NEPA Alliance offices located at 1151 Oak Street, Pittston, PA 18640.
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA), designated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the Rural Planning Organization (RPO) for Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties, convenes the NPRTPO committee, which serves to assist and advise NEPA with assessing the transportation needs of these rural counties. The NPRTPO Committee reviews the area’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which is the primary funding source for the counties’ highway and bridge projects, and transit system improvements. Through the TIP, transportation projects are identified and advanced to provide for the restoration and development of an intermodal transportation infrastructure, which supports economic development by creating a safer and more efficient travel environment for the movement of people and goods.
