The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA), in cooperation with the Local Development District Association of Pennsylvania has instituted the Municipal Technology Assistance Program (MTAP) through a contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Through the MTAP program, NEPA offers new computer systems to local governments (including fire/police departments, municipal authorities, and EMS) at significantly discounted rates. In addition to the prearranged low cost, grants are available for internet access/upgrades and website development/upgrades to qualifying municipalities/counties. Municipal and county governments throughout NEPA’s seven county region consisting of Carbon, Lackawanna , Luzerne, Monroe , Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne are eligible for this program.
Through the MTAP program, NEPA will also arrange System Training Seminars to ensure that individuals utilizing new or current computer systems have the latest and most up-to-date knowledge of their operation and software. NEPA, the regional economic and community development resource is working with the Commonwealth to help bridge the technology gap faced by many local governments in our region.
