Integrated Marketing, Inc.

Lackawanna County
NEPA provided $150,000 in financing to Integrated Marketing, Inc. for their business expansion project. The NEPA loan funds will be used in conjunction with other financing to purchase land and building and machinery and equipment. Integrated Marketing expects to increase their overall employment with 35 new employees through this project.
Dr. Paul Tomcykoski
Dunmore
Lackawanna County
Dr. Paul Tomcykoski, a board certified pediatrician who currently operates in Dunmore, PA, recently received $120,000 in loan funds for land and building to be used in part with other funding to build a new office building. The 6,000 square foot office building will be built in Jessup, PA and will allow the business to expand their practice and hire an additional 4 employees within 3 years. In addition, approximately 3,000 square feet of office space will be available as a rental unit.
T&T Education Services, Inc.
Clarks Summit
Lackawanna County
T & T Education Services Inc., also known as the Sylvan Learning Center, received $36,000 in loan funds for renovation and equipment purchases which will allow for additional instructional space to meet the needs of their growing client base. The Sylvan Learning Center of Clarks Summit is a private educational service offering a unique approach to learning using the national franchised Sylvan System. Anthony and Theresa Mink, co-owners, bring extensive experience and solid business skills to a highly experienced management and professional staff that currently perform the services offered by the company.

Graphite Technoogies
Graphite Technology Receives $200,000 in Loan Funds
Graphite Technology, a Schuylkill County based company received a $200,000 Small Business First loan from NEPA for machinery and equipment and working capital as part of a total project costing over $3,000,000. Other financing in the project includes a variety of other public programs, bank financing and an equity injection. Graphite Technology processes and sells natural and synthetic graphite products and carbon additives to customer specifications. The company utilizes proprietary formulae and scalable in-place processing technology for the production of semi-finished graphite materials processed and sold to diverse manufacturing industries such as the foundry and refractory, packing materials, coatings, heat exchangers, pencils, paints, alkaline batteries, lubricants, colloids and specialized and emerging industries such as composite materials, powdered metallurgical products and fuel cell components. The company owns and operates a manufacturing and processing facility located in Brocton, New York, and has established specialized graphite processing operations at a second plant in Delano, PA, Schuylkill County.

J.A. Reinhardt & Co., Inc., Monroe County Receives $200,000 in Loan Funds Gary Reinhardt, President, J.A. Reinhardt & Co., Inc., a Monroe County based Corporation has received $200,000 in loan funds from NEPA Alliance from two loan programs. The defense industry is a major component of J.A. Reinhardt & Co., Inc's market and recent growth has increased demand for the company's product. The loan funds will be used to purchase additional machinery for upgrades, to become more efficient and remain competitive. The company currently employs 111 individuals and projects that this project will result in the creation of 8 jobs.

PDQ Print Center Receives Low Cost Loan Funds from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance
Officials gathered recently to present a check for $350,000 to David Price and William Gavigan, Co-Owners, PDQ Print Center for the purchase of land and building in the Stauffer Industrial Park, Taylor, PA.

PDQ Print Center provides all facets of printing and graphic design. Founded in June 1975, PDQ has grown from a small two person Print Shop to rank in the “Top 100 Quick Print Giants in the U.S.”  As the largest commercial quick printer in Northeastern Pennsylvania, PDQ has evolved to a full service print facility by using the latest “state of the art” technology. PDQ has two locations, one at 301 Mulberry Street, Scranton and the other opened in 1999 at 502 Market Street, Kingston. They specialize in digital printing having invested over a million dollars in digital print  technology in the last 5 years. PDQ celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2005 and are proud of their service tradition and their recent award as “Lackawanna County’s Small Business of the Year.”

Because of their increased growth, the need arose for expansion into more service offerings, additional equipment and space. The company currently employs 22 individuals. Within three years of completing the project, they will increase their employment by six people with the retention of eight people. Old Forge Bank also provided financing for this project.

Jeffrey Box, President & CEO of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance acknowledged the strong collaborative partnership among county, regional and state organizations that assisted PDQ Print Center.  He further commended the Lackawanna County Commissioners for their commitment to economic development and for their support of business development assistance programs. These programs help businesses establish new jobs in communities across Lackawanna County and Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Compass Rose Care Ltd., Schuylkill County Receives $20,000 in Rural Development Micro Loan Funds Compass Rose Care, Ltd., 507 Pottsville Street, Minersville, PA is a woman owned, Hub Zone eligible, four year old Schuylkill County based company. The company provides in home aides to the elderly, disabled and infirmed population in Schuylkill and lower Luzerne County. Compass Rose Care started in Mary Turick's kitchen in June 2001. Mrs. Turick worked for many years as a nursing aide at various nursing homes in the Minersville area. She started her company on the premise that services would be provided with a higher degree of friendliness and caring. They have 10 full time employees and 20+ part time employees. The company plans to add up to two new full time jobs and several more part time positions over the next two years. Compass Rose Care Ltd. is quite thorough in training their employees to carry out the tradition of conveying their compassion to the customers they serve. Many referrals come from satisfied private customers and from various county agencies throughout the area they serve. Borino Tire and Auto Center Inc., Luzerne County Receives $20,000 in USDA Micro Loan Funds Borino Tire and Auto Center Inc., 3600 North Township Blvd., Pittston, PA is an independently owned and operated automotive service center specializing in tires, brakes, shocks, exhaust systems and minor engine repair. The business grew at a pace that eclipsed their projections and has more than doubled their annual sales. The company has built a loyal repeat customer base. James Borino has been in the tire and autiomotive repair business as a laborer and owner for the past 30 years. He is assisted in the business by his brother Louis who serves as shop manager. NEPA's Business Finance Center The Business Finance Center provides low-interest loans to qualified small businesses. Interest rates range from 3% to 5% and are fixed throughout the term of the loan --- regardless of any upward movement in prime lending rates.
