Change in Final Market Access Grant Deadline

We just received an important notice from the state... There will not be a 6th round of Market Access Grant reviews this year. Instead, the Market Access Grant program will be cut-off after this the 5th round of review officially on Wednesday, April 30th. If you are interested in doing an activity to help internationalize your business and still have part or all of your allotted $5,000 per year available this fiscal year – complete and return your application to Mike Horvath as soon as possible! (Please note: the new fiscal year and additional funding for Market Access Grants will begin July 1, 2008.)
In addition, every company applying for this final round of Market Access Grant funding must have a vendor number. Companies that submit applications without vendor numbers will not be awarded funding. Don’t miss this deadline if you are planning an international event!! 2008 International Hardwood Buyers Mission
The Pennsylvania Hardwood Development Council (PA HDC) will sponsor its Annual Hardwood Buyers Mission, May 12-16, 2008. The group will arrive in and make its first stop in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area.

Every year the PA HDC invites international wood buyers to Pennsylvania to meet with wood/lumber/wood product businesses. The 2008 buyers will be coming from Europe, Asia and for the first time, the Middle East. They are scheduled to arrive in Wilkes-Barre on May 10th or 11th.

On Monday morning, May 12th, the buyers will visit a local hardwood facility to see how Pennsylvania logs are processed. The delegation will then travel to Tunkhannock and onto Willamsport.

On Tuesday, May 13th, Pennsylvania wood and lumber businesses will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the buyers to explain their operations, production capabilities and the type of logs, lumber, wood and or finished products they produce and learn about the buyers purchasing requirements. After the meetings in Williamsport, the buyers will stop in Altoona, Ridgeway, Oil City and Pittsburgh.

If any business is interested in participating in the 2008 International Hardwood Buyers Mission, hosting the buyers' visit to their operation, meeting the buyers one-on-one in Williamsport or for more information contact:
