NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNERS

NEPA Alliance is one of the founding members of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partners, which includes seven agencies/organizations in our region. The partners include:

• Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance
• Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) – Northeast Regional Office
• Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR)
• Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) - Northeast Office
• PPL Corporation
• Proctor & Gamble Paper Products Company, Mehoopany
• Wilkes University

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partners coordinate an annual Awards Dinner every year which highlights the environmental partnerships and achievements of organizations and individuals throughout the region. The awards are open to any group, individual, company, program or organization located in Northeastern Pennsylvania - or whose work has had a positive impact on the environment of the Northeastern Pennsylvania community. The list of eligible counties include: Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming .

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partnership Awards Dinner Committee includes one member from each of the seven founding partners and members from various partnering organizations. The proceeds from the dinner benefit the Pennsylvania Environmental Council’s Northeast Office.

The Thomas P. Shelburne Environmental Leadership Award is the most distinguished honor that is given to lifetime achievers who have dedicated their life to environmental causes and partnerships. Over the years, the program has honored individuals and groups involved in agriculture, forestry, business, industry, education, science, environmental awareness, community service and government, among others.
