International Business Development

international logoThe Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) has provided international trade assistance to Northeastern Pennsylvania businesses in its seven county; Carbon, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne service area, helping them understand the benefits of international trade for more than 30 years. For 20 years, NEPA has been the designated Regional Export Network (REN), coordinator for the Commonwealth’s international program and act as a business’s first point of contact for international trade in the region. The International Business Development Program delivers services to promote the benefits of international trade and provides Northeastern Pennsylvania businesses with sound international business advice to help new-to export businesses begin to export and experienced exporters expand their markets. With this assistance, the International Business Development Program help businesses generate international sales to grow their businesses and employ northeastern Pennsylvania citizens. Northeastern Pennsylvania businesses needing international trade assistance should begin their process, by first contacting NEPA’s International Business Development Program to find the best services that can assist them with their project or problem.

Success Stories

Vibra-Tech, Inc. – Hazleton, PA

Vibra-Tech, Inc. provides blasting consulting services and manufactures seismographs to the mining and construction industries. Vibra-Tech has been using the services of the NEPA International Business Development Program for the past two years and has participated in the PAMEX program and the Canada First project. The PAMEX program helped Vibra-Tech expand business in South Africa. While the Canada First project aided Vibra-Tech development of the Canadian market. Both of these initiatives provided Vibra-Tech an enhanced understanding of the markets, the targeted industry sectors and introductions to businesses in the markets interested in developing partnerships. These initiatives gave Vibra-Tech the ability to participate in trade activities to various markets as well as the exposure and support to forge relationships with businesses that will represent and use Vibra-Tech’s services and technologies. NEPA’s International Program has helped Vibra-Tech to establish key relationships, understand new markets and accelerate our international sales activity.

NEPA participated in the French States and City Chamber of Commerce roundtable hosted by East Stroudsburg University. The French delegation met at ESU’s Business Accelerator to meet with economic development agencies to discuss ways to building better relationships with each region and to promote the benefits of ESU and Northeastern Pennsylvania.
