Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance

Brian Langan joined the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance in mid December of 2002 as a Local Government Specialist within the Community and Government Services Division. He came to NEPA after serving three years for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter as a Staff Assistant and Deputy Director for the Senator’s Northeast Regional Offices in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, covering Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties. Brian’s responsibilities at NEPA include administration of the Pennsylvania Small Town Environment Program (PennSTEP), Municipal Technology Assistance Program (MTAP), lead staff person for the Focus 81 Committee, GIS specialist along with numerous other governmental, community and transportation related duties.

Brian graduated with honors from Marywood University earning a B.A. in Public Administration and has completed several credits towards his MPA in Public Administration. He is a past Board Member of the Keystone Job Corps, Community Relations Council and Senator Specter’s Military Academy Selection Committee and is currently involved with the St. Stephen’s Booster Club, Scranton .

When asked about NEPA and its role in assisting local governments, Brian replied “I look forward to working with our local government leaders to further understand their needs and ensure NEPA is responsive and contributes to their success. With limited staff and resources, it is often times difficult for smaller municipalities to get the help they need. It is my hope that NEPA will become a name synonymous with local government assistance through our dedication, responsiveness and ability to provide new and innovative services.”

Brian enjoys fishing, golf, chess, politics and the outdoors. He a native of Lackawanna County and resides in Scranton.
