"The Northeast Region of Pennsylvania is just as economically competitive and important statewide and nationwide as any other metro area," notes Michael Horvath, International Trade Program Manager for NEPA. "Pennsylvania businesses can develop successfully by extending their knowledge of international trade and getting involved in developing international markets. Northeastern Pennsylvania's businesses have more resources and opportunities to hone their international trade knowledge and market development endeavors because of the International Trade Program at NEPA."
Promotional trade activity, networking and forming relationships with foreign agencies, import/export issues, technical assistance and confidential counseling are Mike's primary responsibilities to help businesses in the region become more competitive.
Mike's objective is to create awareness, educate and provide technical assistance to businesses in the Northeast Region regarding international trade issues. Since beginning his duties in 1989, Mike's dedication to the organization has contributed to much of the success of the program. He assists approximately 120 businesses per fiscal year with international development. "As the International Trade Program Manager for NEPA for the past fourteen years, it has been my pleasure to see businesses take advantage of the program, take their first steps to go to and develop an international market and successfully export their product to the market," he proudly stated.
Previous to his job at NEPA, Mike was the Corporate Traffic and Distribution Manager for a multi-national manufacturing organization located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His extensive experience in client/product service worldwide has continued to progress and is now one of his many attributes that benefits NEPA's program.
